Here i am, at my desk, rounding off figures to 1 decimal place for the 2nd day in a row and counting. This is really sad.
I'm not really complaining about how the work is stressful, or i use too much of my brains for this. This is just really way too boring after a while. So, thats why i'm here!
I was thinking of all the rubbish i could do. All the what-ifs. What if i showed up to work in T-shirt and slippers? What if i "accidentally" wiped the shared drive clean of its contents? What if i told the HR lady what i really thought of her?
The truth is, i can actually envision myself doing all of that. So the next step is consider what i have to lose if i did that.
What if i pissed into a full vat of warm chocolaty goodness? What if i missed a clause in the contract that i was supposed to read, and ending up costing the company millions?
What do i have to lose?
Well, this job of course, but other than that, i can't really foresee any other ramifications. Of course there are the morale issues, "how could you lianglin?" and there is the issue of getting a really horrible reference from this place. But, those are quite minute, period.
Which makes me wonder why i am in this little crack of society that i can be held so unaccountable for the things that i might do(or i am completely unaware of the actions that can be taken against me).
I think it all boils down to the simple fact that i am a temp. Temps are some of the most fearless employees you can ever find. Whats the worst that can happen to a temp? getting fired from a job that he/she doesn't really want to do. Essentially. The greatest fear of the temp is not being to be able to knock off on time, or join the rest of the office at some after-work gathering, really, inconsequential stuff.
So what am i saying?
I'm not too sure as well. I guess i am getting quite tired of this job. Tired of correcting spelling day in day out, thats why i have all these thoughts, that if carried out, will end my stint here almost immediately.
Aren't i hard to please?
