weekend at a glance

sharks.. ever since my A levels have ended, i just have been SO busy.. even more than during the A level period.. gosh.. and its waaay more tiring.. lets see what i've done over the weekend..

Thursday, VE-day
Watch Choir at Marina Mandrain christmas light-up.. well, that was really interesting.. with the pink Christmas tree and the "spunky"laser show thing.. also, its quite a nice change that its actually the first time i've watched the choir perform.. i mean, with a conductor and all, singing a full song in concert gear.. never really done that.. and i must say that i enjoyed it. But singing in it is a totally different experience.

Friday, Saturday.
Attend the annual choral workshop.. yes... nostalgic memories came flooding back as i sat in rehearsal, the warm-ups, the upward pointing finger from david, the ever so demanding and perfectionist comments and requirements by our beloved conductors.. even the chicken rice for lunch.. yes, its been a great two years, i've enjoyed every moment of it, and thats why im back for more!!
For me, attending the workshop again is partly due to the love for the music, the desire to see friendly familiar faces, and of course, the peer pressure. But see right, at the end of it all, i think what you receive is much multiplied compared to what you put in.. as a member of the alumni said last year during a small group sharing session, that you always learn things from music, it is because it is so vast expanse of knowledge you can tap into from music, as well as the humbling effect of being called a musician has on you, that allows us to keep learning different aspects from it..

how true.. im just gonna go let this weekend swirl around in my head for just a bit longer...

Sunday,
perform at KKMC..
yes, get to sing 2 fantasic pieces of music, O magnum mysterium, by Morten laudrisen, and O come, O come emmanuel arranged by one of the my most respected people in the world...-salute- fantastic...

watch Rent.. which was GREAT!! but sorry to say that, Karen Mok really cant sing... really.. im not trying to say that i can sing very well, but.. ah well.. lets just leave it at that..

Monday
Perform again on monday night with the choir at OCBC buliding, nice....we had a very appreciative audience.. and thats always very heartening for any performer..

Tuesday(today)

Go for dinner with the Tai-tais at Fish&Co, yum yum..
watched Prime....... just another romantic comedy... aii... watch it if you wanna see make out session after make out session.. i must say the guy was quite cute, please dont get the wrong idea.

Wednesday, which is tomorrow,
im going out with mommy to go shopping, pig out and get natalie from the apple store! she's gonna be hot, black and sexy... watch me.. haha.. ooh i dont dare to plan too far ahead.. exciting!! cant wait!

so many things, so little time..

so you see, its been choir, choir choir choir and more choir.. and im going to have more choir stuff to do.. whee! please dont say im insane and tell me to get on with my life. I personally feel that its one of the most enriching and rewarding things that i do.. yes, you heard me, so stop giving THAT LOOK when i tell you that i've been going back ever since my papers ended, like, "You go back straight after your papers ended?? what is wrong with you??" or like, "Dont you rather go out and party all night long after that?" or something relating to it. Its getting on my nerves. Stop it.

oh, and because of all this stuff, i am going to be so broke, period!
