well, something unexpected and really amusing disrupted my extremely productive studying session in the oldham wing this morning..
about half an hour after i started, around ten of the school custodians sorta congregated in the clearing of oldham wing too.. one of them was carrying a coil of nylon rope and a iron wire hook. another was pushing this trolley thingie. i soon discovered what they were using it for..
from the third level of oldham wing, two of the custodians were carrying a rolley chair over the protective railing, then slowly they let go of it with as they trusted the strength of the ah pek and the rope to hold the rolley chair from falling the floor.. as the chair reached near the ground, another group of custodians were on hand to untie the chair from the hook and put them on the trolley to wheel away.
this continued for around 3 more chairs uneventfully, then, i think for the fifth chair, the asterick looking metal thing from the bottom that held on to the wheels, became loose and came crashing down, making a huge din, and instantly breaking apart to many many pieces.. one of the tracker girls screamed as i think one of the debris hit her somewhere.. yeah.. what followed was like girls in shorts running around barefooted and screaming, old aunties shouting out in warning after the thing hit... (slow reaction mah)
they sorta continued moving the chairs this way, other parts of chairs fell to the ground and more screaming and shouting.. till at last all twelve(i think) chairs have been transported down two floors..
its what i would call a china method. (i dont mean to sound anti-chinese now, i mean, its still my home country. but there are times you wonder to yourself why there are so many made in china stereotypes)
out of which, 3 chairs were the casualties of the stupidity of the method.. its reall stupid, and i never knew that i'd be witnessing that in my own school.. oh well, what can i say?
speaking of stupid methods, this reminds me of some stupid chinese contractor whom i witness accidentally toppling a telephone pole and blocking the road.
it was winter time, and not yet snowing, he was apparently trying to fix something at the foot. then he was digging on the side of the road, which in the early winter rain had loosened quite a bit... and it just so happens that the pressure of the two other telephone poles were pushing it down. so yeah.. somehow the earth just gave way, and the entire pole crashed to the ground..
k... see i have no idea what i wrote that for. i feel like some sec 2 boy writing some compo about an accident i witnessed.. aii.. the chair elevator thing was supposed to be a really amusing entry, but then because i feel so shitty now. fever, sore throat and like the dizziness is also not helping.. this i blame wholey on -this thing is too foul to be mentioned here- yeah.. seriously you know.. after the -this thing is too foul to be mentioned here- session yesterday, i just felt something wrong. yeah.. now i know what the big giant head means when ritual gets really screwed up..
oh well, what to do.. i asked for it. now i jsut gotta stick my sorry feverish ass in it and finish the job..
im off to put ice on me forehead now... later.
