greetings and salutations my friends!! yes, i am back from the outrageously enriching and rewarding trip to London, oloumouc and Prague. and yes, i am still jetlagged and the inertia is there for me to overcome to start on my pile of work. i actually brought a tiny hill of it over to london and czech, i brought the same hill back... oh, heck with it, i wont let work dampen my spirits of sharing the trip with you guys.. yeah..
i must say that it took great courage and strength for me to actually do this. i attempted to put it all down in words many times, but then it just didnt seem to justify the trip at all, heck, i dont think any words can fully make clear the amount that has been gleaned from this experience. just so so wonderful. and i thank each and everyone of you who has been on the trip! this has indeed taught me so so much about what it meant to be a musician who gave his all becaus of his passion for music contrasted to a musician that gave for the sake of giving, or giving because of the money. so many more memrable times on the trip that will jolt one's mind several years down the road.
-the bus B incident, where one out of two of our tour buses completely went off course and brought us to the countryside of london. i joked saying that maybe the driver thought St. Giles-in-the-fields was literally in the fields.. yep yep.. who knows what goes on in those english bloke's head?
-the time we sang at the concert marathon in oloumouc, Czech republic, when one of our songs, kas tie tadi, was extremely well recieved by the latvian choir seated in the audience. the appaluse and standing ovation we got was one that cannot be matched by any amount of words. it felt like i would be quite satisfied going home with only that one experience.
-the performance at the last venue in the competition, that vibrato in impressions; the contrast in the quiet and moving parts of river qing jiang; the laugh from the heart of everyone for pok pok wow.. im geting goosebumps just thinking about it.
as i thought, its quite unjustfified for this experience to be put down in such short paragraphs, so yeah... people who went, im sure you know what im talking about.
now thats all over, time to come back and get on with life, yes yes, the hum drum life of being a student mugging for the As. i would like to think that the lessons learnt on the trip will be helpful in my future studies and everything i do. yepz. for now, let the studying begin... more next time yeah? i promise.
is this the only non-frivolous entry on my blog or what?
